2010 Club 420 Classes

The Club 420 is used country wide as a junior trainer and offers youth and adults a wide range of sailing experience from learning basic sailing skills through advanced racing techniques.  Unlike the Optimist, which is generally sailed by one person under 120 pounds, the Club 420 is sailed by a skipper and a crew of at least one. In the youth and adult/family classes, all students learn to skipper and crew.  After completing the Club 420 skills  class, juniors will have the opportunity to advance into the intermediate and advanced classes where they will learn the skills required to race and participate  in the Twin City Youth Sailing events held on Fridays at Twin City lakes. They will also prepare for the ILYA Youth Championship event.

Beginning Club 420 For youths who want to learn a comprehensive set of fundamental sailing skills including rigging, leaving and returning to the dock, tacking, jibing and other sailing maneuvers.  Boats are provided  1 1/2 Hour class.  Ages 10 -18   What To Bring To Class  Register Now!
